Obama's New Immigration Policy

President Obama has recently taken important steps towards a fairer immigration policy.  Obama's new policy could potentially affect up to 800,000 undocumented immigrants across America.  These people will have the opportunity to receive a two year deferral from deportation and the chance to to apply for work permits.  Certain requirements must be met  in order to receive these benefit and they are as follows:

-Came to the United States under the age of 16
-Are younger than 30
-Have continuously lived in the United States for at least five years
-Are enrolled in school, have graduated from high school, have obtained a general education development certificate, or are honorably discharged from the Coast Guard or Armed Forced
-Have not been convicted of a felony significant misdemeanor, multiple misdemeanors or pose a threat to national security
